Dambuk fights fury of Sine river;Relief work hailed

Roing, Jul 03:The Dambuk Flood Control Committee (DFCC) continue its fight to prevent further erosional fury of seasonal Sine river,flowing close to Remi village adjoining Dambuk SDO township. Various agencies and companies operating in Dambuk Sub-Division viz. Soma enterprise,M/s Singla,M/s TB crushers,143 GREF RCC Dambuk,extended their support by providing materials and machineries during the Flood Control Work organized by the villagers on Self-Help basis on 1st and 2nd july.Flood protection embankment consisting of riverine stones and boulders was erected all along the course of river in the vicinity of Remi village to prevent further erosion by the river.Earlier attempts of DFCC to divert the course of river farther away from Remi village by digging channel have already been silted and rendered useless with consequent riverine course shifting  further towards the township.Shri Nanokong Modi,ASM,Remi further sought assistance from Dambuk MLA to allocate substantial amount of fund for flood protection works and channelising the seasonal river course for  permanent solution.DFCC president shri Baling perme express gratitude to the various agencies involved and hope for lending their helping hands in future too when needed by public. 

Meanwhile,the essential ration commodities provided by the local MLA Jomin Tayeng was received by a committee headed by Debakar Perme, ASM Paglam-B, PRI Members and GBs as members at Paglam under Dambuk sub-division. The ration items were distributed equally among the villagers and govt employees working at Paglam circle under the supervision of Eving Yirang, incharge SDO Dambuk.The flood affected people appreciated the noble gesture of the local MLA reaching out to its people and strongly lamented the apathy of district administration,Roing for not paying adequate attention to public hardship in the area as this year Paglam-Banggo is reeling under one of the worst floods that the area has seen in the past few years.Expressing their anger towards the absence of DC Roing when the public of Dambuk sub-division were facing the fury of flood.”Is it not her duty to visit the flood affected area, now” lamented an angry youth. 
The MLA had provided 10 MT of rice and 3 quintals of Potato yesterday as an immediate relief to flood hit people of Paglam, who were facing acute food shortage due to recent flood in Dotung River.The ERCs were brought all the way from Tinsukia, Assam via Dholla Ghat as all possible land routes to and from Dambuk to Pasighat and Roing remained closed.
